Meet Dr. Huld!

Dr. Huld has been the Principal of Camas Connect Academy since the spring of 2021.  He brings with him a long history of operating virtual charter schools in Oregon.  Over 14 years, he was a Vice-Principal, Principal, Director, and Superintendent of Oregon virtual schools and the president of Oregon Digital Leaders Coalition.  During his time as the primary administrator for Baker Charter Schools, he oversaw the school’s growth from 300 to over 3,000 students bringing about huge advances in graduation rate, course completion, student/parent satisfaction, and employee satisfaction. Prior to working in the virtual charter school world, he was a math/science teacher and alternative school program director in North Clackamas School District.

Dr. Huld has an Associate’s of Arts Degree with Honors from Clark College, Bachelors of Science from Cascade College in Biology and Secondary Education Magna Cum Laude, a Master’s Degree from Mississippi State University in Geoscience, and has completed both the Initial/Continuing Administrator Programs and his Educational Doctorate from Portland State University.

Since 2011 Dr. Huld has lived in the Camas area when he moved back to raise his twin daughters.  He graduated from Camas High School in 1998 and loves the Camas area.  When he is not working he loves being outside hiking, biking, mountain climbing, skiing, backpacking, and doing anything with his family in the great pacific northwest!
