Welcome to Dorothy Fox Elementary. On behalf of the entire staff, it is a pleasure to greet you as valuable partners in your child’s educational experience. Dorothy Fox is fortunate to have highly qualified, professional, and dedicated staff members who are truly committed to providing your child with the best education possible in a caring environment. Our students do their BEST as they focus on the important “Fox Four.” Students at Fox are SAFE, RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and they are LEARNERS.
We offer our students a quality academic program that encompasses kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition, we have full-time professional educators who teach and enhance learning in general music, physical education, and library/media skills. Our strong scholastic focus is supported by the highly trained literacy and intervention specialists we have on staff.
Our community is interested in supporting the whole child, and we have a strong PTA organization. Our parent community helps us to provide quality arts programs, and we have a schoolwide focus on showing kindness. The Social and Emotional needs of students are part of our intentional curriculum, and we practice self-regulation and collaborative problem-solving skills.
At Dorothy Fox, it is a priority to meet the learning needs of each and every student. Fox hosts an English as a Second Language program, a LAP remedial reading program known as the “Fox Den,” a Resource Room program for students with special individual needs known as “Fox Camp,” and an Integrated Academic Program for students with mild to moderate disabilities known around campus as “Kit Cove.”
Our community is passionate about math and science. Our annual STEAM Night is an example of our commitment to having students learn to be creative thinkers, scientists, and inventors. We support students in problem-solving and having the perseverance to do hard things with a growth mindset.
We embrace the fact that open, positive, two-way communication is essential in any good partnership and encourage families to stay connected with Fox throughout the year.
